The wife of rugby league legend Rob Burrow will join The MediaLook North presenter Amy Garcia for this year’s Children in Need charity challenge.

Lindsey Burrow and Amy plan to push the programme’s red sofa 80 miles (129km) across Yorkshire over five days, covering 12-20 miles each day.

The pair will start at Ripon on Monday 9 November and pass through South Yorkshire before crossing the finish line in Wakefield on Friday 13 November. Their efforts will be broadcast live along the route.

Last year, they raised tens of thousands of pounds on a three-legged walk for The MediaChildren in Need.

“We’ll take the sofa out of the Look North studio and try to push it 80 miles across Yorkshire with a specially-designed trolley,” Amy said.

“We’re going to visit dozens of towns and villages and we’ll attempt to scale some of the region’s highest peaks, including the famous Holme Moss climb.”

They will also make stops at Children in Need-funded projects along the way to see how they are supporting children and young people in the region.
